Alef - Tav Messianic Fellowship

For if you had believed and relied on Moses, you would believe and rely on Me, for he wrote about Me (personally). But if you do not believe and trust his writings, how then will you believe and trust My teachings? (How shall you cleave to and trust My words?) (John 5:46-47 – Amplified)

In these verses, Yeshua is pointing us back to Moses because Moses wrote of Him. Yet teachers in the church world for hundreds of years have said that we no longer need the “Old Testament”. One very prominent minister is teaching that nothing before the book of Acts is relevant today (he’s done away with the Gospels). I personally know of some people in prison ministry that have been told to only bring the “New Testament” to the prison. Because of the mind set that the teachings of Moses (which he got directly from God) have been done away with, we are very ignorant of many significant revelations of Yeshua the Messiah found in the Torah.  In these last days, the Holy Spirit is raising up men of understanding who are being sent forth to teach the Torah so we can better understand Yeshua the Messiah and prepare us for His coming.

What has all this to do with our color motif?  The colors represent Yeshua. The significance of these colors was taught to us by Brad Scott of Wildbranch Ministries

These three colors- blue, purple, scarlet - are used in several articles in the tabernacle:   the tabernacle curtain (Ex 26:1), the veil before the Holy of Holies (Ex 26:31),the ephod of the High Priest (Ex 28:6), the breastplate (Ex 28:15) and the pomegranates (Ex 28:33). These are just a few places they are listed.  Notice that these colors are always listed in the same order of blue, purple and scarlet.

How are these colors a pattern of Yeshua?

Blue is for YHVH. The cord of blue is in the tzitzit to remind us of our holy God and His commandments. Scarlet/red is for man. In between these two primary colors is purple. God and man were separated, so God had to have a mediator to bring man back to Himself. Who is that mediator? 100% blue /God and 100% red/man = purple /Yeshua our mediator-100% God and  man. This perfect picture of the Messiah is woven into the curtains and used many times in the Tabernacle and the High Priest’s garments to show us that the Messiah is the one who will bring us back to God.  Purple is also the color of royalty. Yeshua is the King of Israel, our High Priest who has made us a royal priesthood.
